FS: [SA] 89 MX-5, 33,000Ks engine
Time is near for when the MarioKart will need a new loving home
It is an 89 model 1.6 (not a grey import) in classic red with 5 speed short throw shift manual gearbox. Has long rego which expires 28/02/09 & NO finances owing. *Dashboard mat, *MOMO sports steering wheel (with Mazda centre cover), *Power windows, *Cold airconditioning (has been retrofitted to the current A/C gas) has always been run for at least 10 minutes a fortnight to keep compressor seals in good condition, *Australian approved Autowatch security, *Alpine radio/tape headunit with AMP, 6 CD stacker & Kenwood speakers, *KYB AGX adjustable shock absorbers with WhiteLine lowering springs (1 inch lowered), *Lightweight 14" StarCorp Racing Royal 5 spoke alloy wheels with locknuts, *Slotted front Brembo brake disks with Bendix Advance brake pads at all corners, *Brainstorm Performance (manufactured by I.L. MotorSports) front & rear subframe braces, *I.L. MotorSports front nose grille mesh, *PrestigeAutoTrim's softop with glass rear window (no more fading, creasing or having to unzip the original plastic window softtop), *The proper linear oil pressure gauge (no idiot light here), *MX5mart radiator airflow cover, *NGK long reach sparkplugs, *4-2-1 exhaust extractors with insulation wrapping, *All fluids recently changed Engine swap has been done using a very low K 33,000Ks base engine from a 98 NB6 model MX-5. These are the second generation MX-5 with a 1.6L engine sold only in the Japanese & UK markets. These engines feature the revised crankshaft design & solid lifter head, no more hydraulic lifter ticking thats so common on the original series MX-5 from 89-97! The original 89-93 series electronics have been re-used for this swap & original odometre reads 266,000Ks. New inlet/exhaust manifold gaskets, MazdaSpeed engine mounts, timing belt kit, clutch cylinder, waterpump & other water fittings gaskets. Well reputed businesses MX5plus supplied the engine & John Keen of Southern Hi-Tech Dyno Tune did the engine swap & tuneup. John is the guy who works on the 210kw green MX-5 that races at Mallala! Lots of life still left in this car! Only quality parts used & never run on ethanol blended fuels. Would like this to be sold to a sportscar enthusiast who will love & cherish it. New sportscars today don't have the ease of tinkerability like these versions. This MX-5 is like a modern reincarnation of the original afforadable lightweight 2 seater sportscars back in the 60/70s but with the engineering reliability of the Japanese. A marvellous vehicle with service history, all receipts & Mazda technicians servicing manual. Owner is a enthusiast & member of MX5cartalk/OzMazdaClub & will continue to be so. $10,000 no more. Now $9500 for Mazda fans. Someone buy it already... It's rainy here & the Familia shouldn't have to be out in the rain all the time since theres not enough space.

I have a runabout to last me until the time I can get an MX-5 SE. it's a Familia GTR.. heres hoping I can keep the Familia in really good knick & low kilometres so when i do buy the SE, I can sell the Familia for similar money as what I got it for. it's all part of the plan. though if i won the lotto i'd keep both & just buy an SE & a house to keep them all at.
