Re-install original shifter?

Hey there!

Ok, this is a very simple question and some of you may need to serach through your memory but here goes..

A while ago I bought a shortshifter for my car and installed it properly. The shifter was an expensive piece of **** and after multiple attempts to make it right I've decied to switch back to the original stick. With a small modification that is. My question is this: Do i miss anything in the pictures below to re-install the old stick? I'm almost certain that I've got it covered but I fail to remember exactly how many pieces were taken out when i did the swap.....any help will be greatly appreciated!!

you have everything you need, the bushes go one on top and one below the ball.

i notice the short shifter is missing the lower bushes where the rod arm attached to it. did you find the shifter sloppy (as in 20-30cm sideways movement) and hard to change gears?

This is what the stock shifter looks like now, one of my mates did some welding on it, moving the ball further up.
It got so hot that those small washers one each side fell off.....dunno how important this is, but i'll fix it somehow!

Yes i did.....you are spot on, mate!! Very sloppy and tricky to change gears too!
That's why I'm getting rid of it.
I posted this on the club323f page and one of the members told me i'm missing a circlip, is this right? and if so, what size?

dunno about the circlip. but in the top pic, the oem shift has 2 bushes and the aftermarket shifter is missing them. without these the shifter is sloppy and hard to change. even the oem shifter will be the same when those bushes are missing.

So what you're saying is that if i had put those bushes(?) on the aftermarket shifter it would have handled as it should? Cause i thought the reason for wy it did so was the fact that it was more narrow at the bottom than the original?

The spring and the rubber thingy are actually meant to be on the oroginal shifter since they were on there when i pulled it out. The spring makes sure the rest of the stuff stays where it is. Could i get one of you guys to pull yours apart and tell me if everything's there?:P hahaha!

No theres no bushes on the one on the last picture but that's because its the same shifter just modified so i only put that in the picture......but for your diagram.....what's the two small rings between the circlip and the bushes supposed to be??

ok, the spring belongs there and there are no rubber o'rings... Mazda Europe removed the 323 BF and BG catalogues from circulation last year, so in order to look up parts for the BG, you need the old catalogue

bushes you need: B002-46-062 (shown as "46-062A" in the diagram)... catalogue lists 4, but there's really 6 if you count the two you're not supposed to be able to replace on the gearbox end of the shifter link
there's also the shift rod stabiliser bush: GJ21-46-041 (shown as "46-041B" in the diagram)
the rubber boot you have on that ebay short shifter looks like it's in bad shape... B455-46-090 (shown as "46-081" in the diagram)

parts are still available as these are shared with the BA and MX-3
once you fit these parts to your ebay short shifter, it will work properly as designed

A local ford dealer sells a kit they've made up with a bolt and nut, you cut the factory horizontal link near 46-133 and then you can replace those bushes. exactly the same size as the others. Dunno why they didn't use a bolt there originally.

you're making this more complicated than it really is
just order those parts I told you to order and use those parts... put your ebay shifter back in and enjoy the damned car!
