Cheap mods for BG - Page 3

ok well... illuminated 323 is going in today...
then putting on drift throwovers...
amping up my speakers
buying paint for dash
possibly buying a cannon LOL..

anyone know what i could put in to cover the gap between my headunit and pocket?

pockets... can get them from autobarn super cheap ect... or drink holders

pockets are pretty expensive for what they are..
i found a good one on ebay.. but the seller had really bad feedback.. guess i gotta just keep looking.

well best bet would be to stretch some fly screen over the gap, fiberglass it sand , prep and paint. If you do it properly it will look good ( clearly its a little more detailed then that but you get the picture)

oh speaking of...any one know how hard/easty it is to make a new carpet for the floor? or would it be cheaper easier to get a premolded one? or even fill the irregularities, smooth it all and use auto paint. any suggestions would be sweet

Reasons not to get a cannon:

Causes headaches, both for you and the people who have to suffer driving around you;
Does little or nothing for performance (dude, your car is a naturally aspirated SOHC!);
Putting cannons on non-performance vehicles is a pretty good benchmark for 'rice';
Renders your car illegal - the db limit in Aus is 77 on our cars, which any cannon will exceed;
Will cost you lots of money!

I only want one for the noise. I know I'm never gonna get any performance out of my car.. SOHC... As I said at the start of this thread, I don't like my car and am only moding it for something to do while I save up for a new car.(Not that there's anything wrong with an astina.. I think they're great cars.. I just personally don't like mine..)

Reasons I wanna put a cannon on it:
1. To make fun of my car. I know it's got no go.. I wanna make people laugh at it. Think of it this way: A girl driving around in a small car with a couple of dints with a big cannon on the back. LOL much?
2. I can get one cheap as coz my mate gets stuff at cost price.
3. I like the way they sound
4. When I'm done with it I can sell it on ebay

But in Vic I can't put one on anyway as it is a "performance modification"... which I'm not allowed to do to my car due to new P-Plater laws..

old post revival lol. Cannon is a type of exhaust tip which pretty much is designed to make your car sound really loud

Cannons were designed for cars with larger engines, that would actually gain from the very little backpressure created instead of a normal muffler

Now they are used on every hectic habibs excel or lancer lol

The only time I can appeciate a cannon is on a big boost turbo car. But in that instance the exhaust turbine tends to quieten the farts down to a minimum.

you need cupholders in your car. its a must for anyone who has a drink but cannot hold it. check out my post on cupholders. for $10 u cant go wrong

P.S. i will be updating it sometime. although its complete i didnt have a headunit installed at the time but now that i have i'll update it when i can

There was a build up of carbon on your throttle body, by taking the car to high revs you managed to get rid of it, making your economy better
