Change of plans in cars it seems, Tashs parents would rather tash get a car around the same year model or a little younger than her current Lancer now (which is an 01 model), so with saying that I went for a bit of a drive on tuesday night and spotted a nice little Mazda 2 for $10,990!
Its a 2004 model maz 2 neo (thanks for the info gav on what model ), 66k's on the clock, dark grey interior and 17" rims... Hopefully we'll go down to the stealership with tashs dad on saturday arvo to see if they'd do a straight swap for the lancer, seeing they also have a 00" model lancer coupe for $11K Marc

Join the dark side.
Looks to have power pack (fast glass, mud flaps, side mouldings, coloured mirrors, and 6 disk rock box) don't know about safety pack (ABS, EBD, side n' curtain bags). $10,990 sounds a bit high for an '04 Neo. Check the price on redbook.com.au

I find that the ABS comes on waaay to early in my Genki, so sometimes I feel the EBD pulse the brakes during long fast corners. The one time I didn't need the EBD in an extreme cornering manouvre, it thankfully didn't engage (or I exceded it's limits?)! Let's say that this particular corner sharpened abruptly at it's apex, and I had to t/o o/s to push the nose around more aggresively. To my delightful surprise, the Genki did just that. So it's handling is quite surprising, despite some minor body roll.

It's OK Dave, at the flick of a button I can retract the side mirrors so they don't get scratched.

Bit of an update...
That one I posted above is really $13,930, and in my opinion, not worth it. However, we have found another 2, but this one being a 2003 model Genki 85,000kms, 15" rims, bodykit, fogs, all for $12,990. We're going down to see the car (which is 2kms down the road ) with Tashs parents to haggle what they would do for a trade-in for the Lancer. Its really gotten to the point where im now too afraid the car, we just want it gone...

As some are prolly aware, Lancer sold yesterday for $9000, so we're basically going to need a new car soon!
I have been spending the good bit of 4hrs scouring car websites, and I think I have sound some goodies, just need some opinions: 1997 BA Astina Link here 01 BJ1 Astina Link here 00 KQ Ford Laser Link Here Thats all I can find at the moment (kind of buggered just writing this...), but the prerequisites are that it has to be Manual, nothing over 12yrs old, under 200k's & hopefully under $8k. If you find anything that's also within distance of postcode 4305, post it up!! Cheers Marc

Will you intend to modify it at some stage? Or just keep it stock for daily driving?
