323 BJ (1.6L) 200,000km Service

G'day guys,

Just wondering what is required at the 200,000km service for the 1.6L motor in the BJ based 323?

I know for a fact that the timing belt is due at ~200,000, as well as the water pump. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Obviously I'll be doing coolant and oil at this stage too, the coolant looks very overdue but I'm waiting till my timing belt to save wasting it.

Not really anything major
More so the biggest items are the timing belt and waterpump, obviously the oil and filter, maybe spark plugs. I can't completely remember off the top of my head.

As HAIGHIE said, just the basic items.

At 200,000km the motor is just getting started

Alright, thanks for the replies guys!

I'll probably do just the timing belt/water pump at this stage and the oil/filter I'll be doing again soon (done around 7,000k's on it).

What oil would you guys suggest? I had some Castrol Magnatec (10w-40w) leftover from my Audi so I used that last time but I've noticed a bit of lifter tick upon a dead cold start.

Eh, well I'm potentially starting my first (a fulltime job) soon, so I'll probably sell the Mazda once I get a few $$$ and get another Audi. Want to avoid the 200,000k service to keep costs down

I'm not entirely sure about the 1.6's, but I've recently bought an SP20 and am running Valvoline 10w40 in it so I can only assume its the same or similar

Probably wouldn't hurt to do the gearbox oil as well @ 200k's
