well u have the advantage of keeping the revs high.
my v6 hada few mods but nothing serious. a CAI with K&N panel filter and a higher pressure fuel regulator was about all i think. |

how didyou measure the time? give us some more details on your car ... how many ks, condition etc, also what fuel are you running it on? does it run smoothly? how many ks are you getting from a tank?

the tyres could be throwing out the speedo too. if you have larger tyres the speedo would be showing 100kph and in reality you're doing faster, therefore making the times incorrect...

the 16s are stock on the v6.
u may find that if u drive it softly on a day-to-day basis the computer will adjust the way it fuels the engine to suit your driving style. this would give less performance. if you havnt replaced the basics recently I'd do that air filter spark plugs run some injector cleaner through it. maybe take a look at the contacts in the distributor, check the leads for arcing etc. and give your baby some good fuel |

here`s some quarter mile times:
http://www.popuplights.co.uk/quartermile.htm no auto`s i know, but it gives you something to compare against. also, speedo`s are well know to err on the optimistic side. so if your speedo says 100k`s then your probably at about 104 or 105. Last edited by geetee; 16-07-2005 at 10:16 AM. |

Most of us with minor mods can keep or take a commodore or Falcon on the road. I've done a commodore the whole way down the strip before too. Which is OK considering the superior launch it should be able to muster with all that power and the flawless action of an auto to launch it... Not that my 16.653 was fantasitc, but better than him by 0.4s still.

me and a mate a while back timed my 1st bj II protege to a 100 with a 2" crush bent cat back exhaust system and on a stop watch and i could consistantly get it 0-100 in 9.6s and a best time of 9.467, my wheels were 1" bigger than factory size so it could have been faster but its hard to say. like many of you i can beat commodores which are much more powerful cars.
im hoping that with the full exhaust and injen i could get my car into the very low 9s or high 8's and running mid to low 16s, should engine management and cams come along later id be very happy to run twilight times, but 15.5 id my goal with out snail power. Stock Astra turbo times are what id love to see coming from my car.
