You should have better resolution assuming they set it up in Matrix mode. From what the Microtech guys are saying in the US, the power delivery is very good and noticeably better than some other systems. Is the MT handling your boost control now?

I thought his power output was much the same, but sometimes it's not the destination that matters, it's how you get there!

well i got my car back today.. doesnt seem to have the same repsonse as it used to when u hit boost. there are a couple of issues when it idles after driving it seems to drop the revs a bit then pick up again and so on. Starting sometimes takes a few more cranks than usual ,will have to give them a call to sort it out

Yeah, Chiptorque sort of put you in a sport where I'm sure they almost made it seem as if they needed to tune it for you or else. I don't see why they couldn't, however they're not Microtech experts, they're Chiptorque experts...
My understanding is the Microtech is a technically better ECU than the Unichip, so there's no reason it should be worse, unless they tune on the conservative side of things?

sounds like they gave you a crap tune.

like gav says, they arent MT experts. ppl like dyson are (since MT's were originally designed for rotary's)

MT is technical better is every single way over a unichip. the unichip is just playing with signals from the stock ecu so essentially the stock ecu is still running the engine. with the MT it completely runs the engine. anything can be adjusted or changed as much as you want. MT vs unichip is like nissan GTR vs hyundai Getz.

would be helpful in getting the timing correct, then they can pull back the afr if needed, or adjust anyway....

saw interesting AFR the other day on the dyno - VX commodore... from idle to redline it just kept smack on 14:1 - i've never seen that in my life!

anyway...
anton - you mean it takes more key turns or just longer to kick over?

Andrew and I have seen that before with a BMW reading 14.7:1 through the whole range. But this was measured at the pipe with an Autronic...

anton - yeah the timing graph is most important to NA guys, and we can easily dial back the fuel settings via the mixtrim function (pulls fuel by the set % throughout the rev range)

we're back. good day for all, lots of power.

still some minor adjustments required to maps, but they are things that are better done on road rather than on a dyno.

nate got 89whp, timbo 168whp (14psi), gav 113whp and myself 135whp. timbo and myself have new spark plugs sitting at home as well. i'm also going to run through a bottle of the upper engine cleaner poop prior to jambo to help out and run through some injector cleaner stuff as well just to help out.

however, do not take those as bible. we're going to have a go at the mercury dyno in the near future to see how they go compared to previous results and also a dyno in shootout mode so the figures are comparable australia wide (well they are supposed to be). gotta compare apples with apples!

i think my timing can be advanced a lot more than what it is so i'm going to try and work that out. also want to lean out my cruise and idle settings a bit more to save of fuel.

fantastic OMG full sik goodness tune? no. good tune to work on, yes. far far far better than the base tune provided by microtech. also 7000rpm sounds strange....but a good strange! i keep wanting to change gears at 6500 since that's what i've always changed at before (stock rev limit)
