Exhaust problem

Ok here's a weird one. Atsina has felt a bit sluggish lately and I noticed a rattle ing kind of noise the last week
. Anyhow today it seemed much worse with my speed struggling to get over 40kmh. It even chugged a bit in 1st and 2nd.
So then I rev it a bit while driving along and a heap of smoke comes out my exhaust then the car frees up and drives like it should. What could have happened here? I have exhaust fitted with extractors and high flow cat.

Cheers mike

Your cat has died and clogged the exhaust.
