If you drop the car too low it becomes impractical - You'll be forever scraping the front bumper on speed humps, dips etc. If I were you I'd keep the stock rims and just drop the car 30mm max. That way you have a nice stance, and the car still remains practical.

In terms of brand, I'd personally stick with anything from TEIN, RS*R, Espelir, Megan and Tababe. It all depends on your budget and exactly how low you want to go.

Oh, and probably best to stay away from King Springs too - they're rather stiff springs and while it may make the car may look good, it'll ride and handle about 10x worse.

King springs won't make your car handle worse. Of all the springs I've had in my Astinas they were probably the best but I did pair them with adjustable Koni shocks.
Any springs you put in will put more wear on your existing, old, factory shocks and they will fail quicker. If you want to spend money on suspension wait until you can do shocks and springs at the same time. A car with bad shocks is no fun and dangerous.

well i had king springs on my previous car ., but thats with a monroe shocks and it wasnt that bad., but its soft spring though? since every time i hit a uneven road the rear scraped to the body of the car(me only no passengers), idk if the rsr would be the same? you reckon its worth a try?

kings like any springs are only good when matched with good shocks.

Just wondering what shocks /springs you guys would suggest for a SP20 with 17" rims, to make it sit right (not dragging its ass in the tar)

As above. Very happy with kings/koni adjustable shocks.

Yes, BJI/BJII are the same apart from the length of the front swaybar endlinks

So 17's with a 1" drop should look okay or would 2" be better, I am only lowering it so it doesn't look funny and would rather not have the ass scraping on the ground constantly, its my daily runner.

Send a message via ICQ to JDM323
30mm drop is practical and legal, I'd go for that.

I have a 2002 323 hatch and have installed ZF Sachs Sports Touring all round with Pedders lowest legal spring. I didn't put the little black rubber rings back in.

I have 17" 205/40/17 and the ass sits with the guard about 5mm above the tyre and the front guard sits about 12mm tyre. On level ground the sills of the car sits perfectly even.
Never scraped the front or rear guards on anything, but I do slow down for driveways gutters and speed humps anyway.

The valving in the shocks is a little hard for slow speed but the faster you drive the better it feels. total retails is about $600 in WA but I worked for Sachs and get good discount from pedders anyway so only cost me $350.

If you want I can upload a pic.
