no, the uv ones that were in my brothers commodore was distracting, the strobe lights hidden in the kidney grills, were also distracting.

well done on the restore. It's good to see people still see the potential in the old astinas.

That thing is tops, very impressive restoration.

Out of interest, do you have any more information on your front lip? I have the same one (photos in reader's ride) but don't know much about it.

Hey Man, hopefully you're still around these forums.. if not can anyone else tell me:
How do you convert the dash instruments to white and do the lights and such?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Simon

I am indeed - was just surprised about the thread necromancy
It's fairly easy - you could buy new illuminated dial facia that you could juyt put on top of the original dials. I then only painted the needles and changed illumination to red bulbs.

Hey mate, don't know if you're still around here, i was just wondering how did you colour your rocker/valve cover? Is it powder coated? or did you spray it yourself?

And how much did it set you back? (If you don't mind me asking)

The car came out beautifully, well done!

Cheers

Sooo, it ain't dead yet!
Gave the car to my mom in 2014 and just got offered to have it back since she bought a replacement.
It has had a bit of a rough life but does not look like a lost cause. Those pics are the last ones from a few years ago:

Unfortunately i crashed it a bit during a winter touge session so the front end is only minged roughly into shape. Would require a new front mask in addition to brake lines, brakes, gaskets and some minor rust removal.

Still, how could you say no to this face?

Atm I'm chewing on the idea of getting it registered as historic vehicle in 2024...
