you'll start hating that stupid adjuster when it strips/seizes/rusts/breaks like it has happened to so many people in north america already

I love my EDM brakes... fully auto adjusting, no stupid adjuster to break!

so on tuesday a package got delivered to my work

and me being me couldn't help my self and as soon as i got home started putting it all together

and that when i got home from work on thursday i made the rash decision to actually put them on my roof so down to bunnings it was to get me a drill bit some silicon and a couple of nuts and spring washers

and then i went out a took some photos, yet to get some good ones but they will come.

so having a little claim to my self of being the first 323 Astina with these roof rack

cheers heeps tp alex for the racks and packageing them extreamly well so they didn't get damaged

i also recived my Injen from ben on monday so i chucked that in aswell

i love induction noise ;P

they're the same thing as the 2002 P5 and 2000-2002 Familia S-Wagon Sport20
they look good but adds so much wind noise/wind resistance

the roofs that have the built in roof rack is different from the ones that don't, which is why drilling holes was necessary for conversion... to or from a roof rack conversion

ok azz where do you see this car?? and what time??

you take the racks i'll take the sun roof deal better we'll just get the 9" out and take it all as one then split it now were talking

yer ed, actually do you know of anyone thats taken a pic of the roof??? ours has the holes cut out in the second layer of the roof corner on the inside just not on the outside layer, so it gave me a pretty definded point to drill out, but would love to see what the US and JDM roof is actually like

so today i under took my own quest of fitting a FS intake cam int to my FP

for the differences :

FP: 225 duration, 7.9mm lift

FS: 241 duration, 8.6mm lift

the FP has an overlap of 6deg

the FS has an overlap of 7deg

with the FS intake and FP exhaust you get an overlap of 11deg

so not massive spec difference, and power gain wise not really all that noticable, but power curve has been moved completely, the FP sufferes badly down low and then really cam alive at 4000k mark, now my car has a nice smooth power curve from about 2-2500k mark up to 5500 then really comes alive goes to limiter really easily, my biggest problem now is the limiter being to low,

so over all i have no idea if its quicker or slower as i said not a massive noticable power difference but the power curve has been shifted and changed over all i will be driving the car like this for 3 weeks untill i go to the drags again and see what the difference is, if it's worst i will probly keep it like this still as i CBF to swap it back, but i'm thinking it could only be worst because the engine isn't able to rev to its power band,

and at the end of the day cost me nothing at all had everything laying around and it was just a matter of staying back at work 4 and extra 3 hours,

of and i also got this today

my new perry muffler was a nice little addition also

i also now have a very slight cam sound to the exhaust note at idle

increasing overlap reduces low end power/torque, due to exhaust reversion... high RPM power is increased because of better scavenging, longer duration, and higher lift... this allows more air into the engine at high RPM

exactly and thats exactly where its moved the power curve up, the car start to come alive at 5500 and then hit limiter 6700 way to easily but it has smoothed out the low end though, it's not as slugish and reves evenly and smoothy all the way up till it start to reach it's power band,

so i'm gessing the extra lift and bigger duration is helping the low end, but the real difference it up top but high then i'm able to reach

ok so little update on this cams performance, car is alot better smoother pulls harder down low and revs alot more happy in the top of the rev range in 3rd and 4th, doen't seem to lag/struggle to rev out anymore. over all i'm much happier with this little mod just makes the car much nicer to drive

I just thought of one thing
if you put the FP-DE exhaust cam back in, you'll get even better top end performance than the FS exhaust cam... it will bump the overlap up to 11 degrees... DO IT!!!

thats what i've got in ATM i only changed the intake cam to the FS intake cam

one better i'm going to put another FS intake cam in place of my exhaust cam as i will still have my 11deg of overlap but with a 8.6mm lift insted of the 8.1mm lift and bring the exhuast duration up from 230deg to 241deg. food for thourght

so i will kind of have exactly the MSF TBS cam specs plus .5 deg overlap
