Cost of Installing Headers and for rest of Zorst!!!!!!!

I have just got quotes for the install on headers and 2" pipe and priced the bits to go with it to finally get my poo in a pile and get my zorst done.

 HOLY SNAPPING DUCK SH!T BATMAN!!!!!!

I am really surprised at these costs, especially the cost of the CAT!
Must admit I was iggorant until now as to what these things were worth, but I will have to save even longer to get the whole system done.

These are the prices I have been quoted, I would appreciate it if you guys can tell me if they are normal/reasonable.. or did they see me coming!
  • $180 Fit Headers

    $250 2 1/4 CAT

$80 Resi don't know if the pipes have a resi in them???

    $220 Muffler n Tip
this is without the Remus I WANT, this was just for quote purposes!!!

$730! plus the cost of the headers I have to purchase.

I know you all are going to say that is cheap but..... must admit I was expecting a teensy weensy bit less than that.....

I will still collect the headers n pipe but looks like I won't be able to get it done before Xmas now

Yeh its pretty average pricing. $180 to fit the headers is a bit steep imo.

Why you need a new cat?. Just use the standard one.

Piping wont include any resonators.

Just out of curosity, send one of the boyz to the same shop and get them to ask for a price. Be interested to see the result.

For a reference, I got quoted $250 for a 2.5" high flow cat but that was a few months ago.

I currently have a leak somewhere and what's the bet it's the CAT!

Murphy's Law.......

And I didn't think I could use the same cat coming off a Manifold and going to headers and then changing pipe size too.....

I would certainly like to save the $250 if I can!!

Leak could be anywhere. Jack the car up and coat the cat in soapy water and turn the engine over and punch the gas. Look for bubbles. Easy Mine snapped just before the cat.

They can just put a flange either end of the cat. This is what has been done under my car and I have 2.5" piping. I just need to replace the cat when I go turbo. Saved me $250 at the time.

Ill see if I have a good pic of it.

Mine starded leaking from the pipe that comes off the cast headers. Was quoted something like $430 for the pipe from Mazda and $370ish for headers supplied and fitted at Midas.
Got the pipe for the right price from a wreckers and had it fitted while it was having one of the CV's replaced.

The zorst is only as large as the smallest section, if the standard cat is 1 7/8" then that will be the effective size of the rest of the system. (But it will sound louder with a bigger pipe) Also $250 sounds about right for a cat like that.

I should be more specific, I was looking at a 2 1/2" for the Cosmo and was quoted $250ish.

ABSOLUTELY MIK!!!!!!!!

Pretty please price my Zorst

And always happy to spend day at the gong with my friends.....

Maybe this time I will get to see some of it, not just the road between Leanne's party and the motel

I want to see the headland where all the nice cars go and have the photo's taken.

If we do zorst for the right price, we will have to do a BBQ or something????

Prolly won't be until after Xmas now, am broke.......

But I would LOVE for you to get me a quote please?

Especially if I don't have to pay for the cat....... but can I please not have a farty exhaust like Jynx?????

*grins at Jynx*
