I wouldn't bother Dan the pictures are all from a 2001 protege so most of
the pictures are only an idea and its all pretty much what you expect anyway.
Remove console, jack up car, remove bolt holding bottom, remove holding
clip and take out shifter and then reverse install.

Zane,
Twilight's is in the Melb bag correct. I only checked/tipped out the bag for
me, Jynx and Rod.

Yup. There should be a separate small bag in the Melb bag - that's Twilight's.

I watched my son come out
"Slightly used" is not a term I think can be applied without
fear of legal ramifications. Reconditioned could be used if
you had a extra couple of stitches added...... I am sure the
line was well and truly crossed even before it was my turn
to speak and once the line is broken well all bets are off
aren't they ???

Changing the subject anybody removed the circlip holding the
shifter in, yet. Rubbed the grease off looking at how it comes out now.
The term remove clip in the instructions is like a "Der" bit of help.

IT DOESN'T FIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well its not that bad  I did however have problems getting the shifter
all the way down into the hole. I think its because the 2nd Oring is on top just
below the circlip on the original whereas the B&M has 2 on the body. I couldn't
see a ridge in the hole to stop it so a little confusing. Will drive around for a
day or 2 and see if it works its way down. Also wanna see if any other BA guys
have a similar issue the fix maybe to take off the 2nd ring on the body and go
like the factory and one on the body and one below the circlip. Note that the
B&M says to install that as well to end up with 3 rings in total.

Just to let you know the drive into work was crazy.
The throw of the shift is heaps less you can hold your
arm still, and by only using your hand can select all 4 gears.
Basically just click out of gear and click into next. The
force to get it out of gear is a little more by the reduced
height of the shaft but is still awesome overall.

it will loosen up, probably as your wrist muscles get stronger, to cope with the extra throw effort
