Switchn 01' SP20 Taillights with 03 lights

Hey

Does any1 kno if the tailights on the later sp20 models (with the circles in em) are a straight fit into the earlier 01 models that have the taillights with the lines in them?

Is the socket shape/size any different between the models? Looking purchasing some from ozeparts if they are interchangable.

so you are wanting to put in the SP20 taillights then? ill get you a price on monday for you on them too, see if i can do better than ozeparts. the do bolt straight in im pretty sure, but i think the sockets might be a lil different not sure...youll have to ask chicaboo on that one.

Yes - I own 01 sp20 with the tailights that have lines in them, and I would love to put in the later model tailights.

I think they are 285 or something from ozeparts.

It's my anderstanding that the shape of the globe sockets/bayonettes on the J48 round style taillights is different to that of the BJII line style taillights. I believe the sockets/bayonettes needs to be replaced. I know this has been done once or twice down south, so don't worry, it's not a big deal, but you may have to procure the extra sockets or adapt your existing to fit. Otherwise the lights will mount exactly the same with the 3 bolts to the chassis, the light needs to be removed to access the globes.

you will need to buy an additional wiring loom from mazda, or if your able to swap with some one then remember to swap the looms

buy the looms from a wrecker, you'll probably need new bulbs too (i did)
