ok, any recomendations on BOVs? And I will determine what the cost is and that will determine if it will in into the air or exhaust

Boost Control: Uhmm, I think I will skip that right now.

Exhaust: as any one done a dual exhaust? two pipes? 1 left side 1 right side?

BOV's are a personal choice much like jewelery.
A plumb back is all you need but most want a nice shiny
vent to air with a distinctive sound.
Best thing to listen to as many as you can and pick the one
you like the best.

Hi All, Im Back! So here I am with new questions:

* What is the pressure run in the cylinders?
* Not the compression ratio (which is 9.8:1 for the 2 litre?)
* What is the turbo run on the standard SP20 in the states or the one in the Hi-Boost kit.
* Fuel Pump? Needed? Is it internal or external pump tank?

Thats all I need for this weekends session I think.

Oh yeah, Fuel Pump, or a fuel pressure regulator is that needed? I heard that 7 psi will take the injectors to 80% duty cycle? will adding extra fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulator help the injectors? or am I a confused emule?

pressure run? i assume you mean psi etc? i think it's in the 180's stock.

comp ratio is 9.7:1

good idea to upgrade the fuel pump - better safe than sorry. and it's intank. the walbro unit for the mx5 fits with small mods.

interms of which is better? fuel pump or regulator. they both do different things. best to do both and get new injectors.

your kidding yourself
at 8psi the stock injectors will hit 100% duty cycle on a coldish day....

they are piss weak and should be a major upgrade...

i recommend these thigns for a streetable reliable turbo setup on a BJ:
- pistons
- rods (definite)
- ecu
- cooler
- injectors
- pump
- fuel pressure reg

as minimum...

The kit we sold at street dreams didn't even have all this, and it was the cheapest we could do it and people still whinged about price.... so don't expect much change...

BUT in order to have a reliable (not something that'll blow the first time you give it a hit with some crap fuel in the tank) turbo BJ your need to spend the cash to safe guard yourself...

this goes for everyone who always talks of how things can be done heaps cheaper than retail etc... you pay for what you get and personally i use my car everyday and can't afford to have it blow a motor every 6 months

my 2.c =p

yeah there must be a big diff...

you also need to take into account that with the higher compression of our engines more fuel is needed to keep things happy...

in Sydney with a full haltech, malpassi on 7-8psi i was 90-100% duty depending on the weather... if it got cold i used octane booster to be safe and stop the pinging... i got a friend justin (who still worked at haltech at the time) to tune and install so there was no dicrepancies in the tune.. so there must be a big difference in size with our model and your model.... do the BA's use side feed or top feed injectors?

This is another thing that people didn't take into account with the SD kit. We ended up sorting it out so we could bring it down to around 80-85% using a few different tricks, but it took alot of tinkering.

Ps sorry to everyone if i am sounding big headed and blunt but after the recent car shows and being on here for a while i am starting to seriously starting to feel like every time someone asks me something or wants help with turbo'in the SP and i answer they either argue or tell me i did it wrong or the expensive way which can be done by they're mate bill for half the price.

hey, the last thing I want to do is save 1000~2000 and blow the engine! Don't see the sense in that.. remember a lower TCO is what I am after. (Total Cost of Ownership)
