sound deadin and bigger speakers
hey peeps i am gonna put some sound deadin in my car but dont know how hard it is to do so and i am wanting to put 2000 w pionner 12' subs in but already have 10' 1000w jbl's and want to use the same box is it possible to cut the box bigger to fit the 12's?

Yeh i have done it before but than the sub is not at its full potential. Also sounded like crap but that was because it was a jbl sub. Some pre fab boxers are the same size, but with different size cutouts to accomodate 10's or 12's. This means it may work for you, but you wont know until you try.

sound deadening for what exactly?
i got some black tar paint $20 or somthing n painted around ma wheel arches on the inside n underneith the boot to try to stop some of the **** noise from my exhaust heaps easy to do ) ya only need the paint n a brush |

well i want all the boot sound deadened and im gettin a carbon spoiler for it which is direct fit so that should stop the normal spoiler shakin, where did u get that paint from as it sounds gd.

You can stop the rear spoiler from rattling... I'll find the article and post it.

just thought i would give some input..
you cant just think... oh ill jigsaw my old sub box out and then put the bigger sub in.. different Subs need specs on the box so that the sub plays to its perfect sound.. Example.. I got a 10' Response Carbon fibre sub from jaycar now my sub box required i think 36 litre volume of air in it and sealed.... so i had to make my box to that spec or else my sub wouldnt sound to great.. Now i would think that the box for ya JBL was done that way... cause if not you might not be gettin best sound from the sub.. Try looking at the sub makers website and find out a recommended sub box size.. they should know.. Just some technical info about sub boxes for ya...
