Yeh i have done it before but than the sub is not at its full potential. Also sounded like crap but that was because it was a jbl sub. Some pre fab boxers are the same size, but with different size cutouts to accomodate 10's or 12's. This means it may work for you, but you wont know until you try.

You can stop the rear spoiler from rattling... I'll find the article and post it.

just thought i would give some input..

you cant just think... oh ill jigsaw my old sub box out and then put the bigger sub in..

different Subs need specs on the box so that the sub plays to its perfect sound..

Example..
I got a 10' Response Carbon fibre sub from jaycar
now my sub box required i think 36 litre volume of air in it and sealed.... so i had to make my box to that spec or else my sub wouldnt sound to great..

Now i would think that the box for ya JBL was done that way... cause if not you might not be gettin best sound from the sub..
Try looking at the sub makers website and find out a recommended sub box size.. they should know..

Just some technical info about sub boxes for ya...
