EOI - Beaudesert/Gold Coast Hinterland Cruise (Queensland)

Was out and about last night, getting driven around my old stomping ground... wondering if you guys would be interested in a hinterland cruise? I've got some local knowledge about some nice twisties up and around there, and theres also the INSANE goat track (back way down from mount tamborine, 1 lane, twisting all the way.....) we can run down...

Would be a good spread of highway driving and bendy bits....loads of good photo ops

let me know if ur interested and i'll go for a drive sometime soon and work out a route.

yes we all know that goat track, it's fun but only at night.

it would have to be in a couple of months away as there is an ippy and sunny coast cruise in the next 2 months coming up.

You'd wanna have your balls screwed on tight to run the goat track at night at any sort of speed.

i've been down it in thick fog and its not overly fun.

another sunny coast cruise? :P

it'll take me some time to organise it... plus theres the drag day..just seeing if anyone wants to use my (somewhat hazy, unfortunatly) local knowledge of some underused roads around the traps...(grew up out that way, cut my teeth on those roads...hehe)

yeah fog is always fun - the road we run on last weekend, i've been running realy mornings with fog, crossing 1 way bridges at 160kph with 40m of vision is not something for the faint hearted. balls and good machinery are always required, otherwise stay at home with grandma.

i am interested, sorry forgot to mention that in last post

Well, last time i rattled down the goat track at any speed was in my old beat up 626 hatch with shagged shockers... handled like a pig...would love to see what the BJ with sticky rubber, full camber and caster, and superlows does on it
(no dont have the rubber or the SLs yet..but they are coming!)

anyone else? or am i just going to chase ryan?

I'm always up for a cruise. And yes we've run the goat track heaps of times, quite a few times at night too. Earlier in the year I took the right hander that dips after the last 20kph lefty with no front brakes and went around it backwards!
So we know all 4 ways up and down Tambo/Oxenford fairly well, but there is one way down we avoid, but it's not that fun anyhow unless you've got huge brakes...
Springbrook, Beachmont, and then run down to Mudgeeraba and back are great roads, and highly reccomended.

I vote Beachmont, they are perhaps some of the best corners I can do in daylight.

I scrubbed for the first time on the goat track the other weekend, but when I get the new wheels and tyres that shouldn't be a problem anymore... Can do North Tambo (one of my favourites with no traffic), goat track, Canungra to Beachmont, then work our way to Mudgeeraba and back via Springbrook, etc...

I have some tracks in mind, will need to scope them out, its been a while since i've driven then....lived out there for yonks...know alot of fun bits of track... know of one semi-sealed road that'd test most everyone out... less than a regular lane thick, very twisty.

atleast 1/2 the cruise wont be missed or the whole cruise will go over expected time because people are always waiting for you (break down, over heating, etc)
