people have broken gearboxes when NA, let alone turbo...

but to turbo the NA BP, you'd need the:

manifold
turbo
ecu
injectors

should be able to run about 8psi or thereabouts

but probably just as easy to drop in a bpt really, as you'd get it all without having to source separately

Yeh but equally people have had turbo engines without breaking gearboxes. All depends on how you drive.

:x Pitty its so subjective. :x

It would be nice if it was simple like, do 6grand launches you'll kill the box, or 200kw atw will kill the box... Anything else will let it live.

Maybe ask old people how they do it... Mum, Dad and Gran never have gearbox bust on them. They must know something I don't.

RB20 or RB25 turbo the RB25 obviously is bigger. Based on comments by a guy that
had one on his 323 it was a bit laggy but on boost was awesome. I personally like the
IHI turbo's I have a VF12 hybrid love it, it spools as good as standard has much better
off boost performance just a shame at the moment my rear muffler is buggered and I
cant boost up real good.

The standard gearbox doesn't handle much in the way of abuse or power. I'm amazed that I never had to replace mine. (due to abuse not power ops: )

It depends on your ultimate goal.
If you want GT-X power then do the swap and sell off your old engine :|
If you want GT-R power then a re-build would be a good start, forged low comp pistons, custom exhaust manifold, turbo, exhaust, intercooler and plumbing, large capacity fuel pump, programmable ECU, labour, dyno time, etc.......

Have a look around the forum for facts figures and opinions, that way you can geet an idea of costs. Personaly when I was playing with my Cosmo I had heaps of fun, made plenty of mistakes, spent too much money and after $15,000 I stopped counting (LA, LA, LA, LA, LA, not listening, not listening, not listening). Beyond that I would get very defensive when I was asked about costs.

true, but you're also running the stronger G series box (89-95)

whereas BigMal, Toyboy and me are funning the F series (96+) which are even more prone to breaking

mine was my own fault - i should have paid attention to that bearing noise
