Mounting an Amp under the LHF seat???

Hey all, While im in the process of painting the car and all the carpet, dash etc will be out im taking the opporttunity to insatll my new audio components.
As Ive got rid of my sub, old amp, old HU, old speakers etc i thought id try and focus on the front and keep everything around the driver and passenger..
ATM i have:
JVC HU KD-BT1
Pioneer 4" 2 ways
Kicker 6" Components
Kenwood 300w Amp
What i want to do is install the amp under the passenger side seat, running all the cabling under the carpets and around the centre console so none of it is visible, what im having trouble trying to figure out is how to mount the amp securely under the seat?...Ive thought about just drilling and screwing it to the floor but that sounds a bit dodgy?...does anybody have any suggestions about how to do this at all without drilling holes and possibly inviting rust into the floor of my car?....Chers in advance,
Jon

u can go to jay car, they sell double sided taped velcro,
i did the exact same install, worked perfectly

To make sure it really sticks well, you can stitch the velcro to the carpet (velcro side up of course) and the other strip really sticks well to the bottom of the amp, personally i never bothered stitching it, seeing as the sticky part on the bottom of the velcro stuck to the carpet really well.

It's a good place to install, provided the amp is reasonably small and there is sufficient room over the top of the amp for air to flow, you don't want it touching the bottom of the seat. also, theres a vent down there (at least in the BA) so that seemed to provide some good coooling ventilation, whenever you turn the fan to cool your feet.

Good luck, let us know how it turned out.

Yep, i'd agree with the velcro. Go to Bunnings, and get the extra heavy duty one that comes in a roll in yellow packaging.

It's so strong i can life my sub box but the carpet - which is only attahced by the velcro!

i have velcro on a 4ch amp with room to spare upwards, not sidewards though. only have velcro on the amp as it naturally grabs the carpet

I have a clarion disc stacker under that seat, they have an intriguing way to anchor it. basically two metal strips that go under the carpet with bolts that you have protuding through the carpet, then clamps down with wingnuts. Its been there 9 yrs now and has never moved.

Just another idea

the rail the runs along the front seats had many unused screw holes that can be used to attached brackets to. then all kinds of objects can be attached to these brackets. as per your disc stacker. i have my fire extingsher attached under there.

but the valco option for an amp does sound the goer. tested and proven many times by the sounds of it.

Jon
I got a pretty decent amount from kmart in a pack for about 5 bucks... i found everywhere else it was rather expensive.
