Removing front door speakers 91 BG Astina
Hi there,
Exactly what the title says :P I have a little bit of knowledge but am sort of new to all this car stuff. Just wondering if I would need to remove the interior panel or just the lower bit covering the speaker and how to go about it. Also, got a pair of pioneer speakers which are 6-1/2", if it's any help the model number is TS-A1683S.. because of the size will I be needing spacers? Thanks! |

hi to you too
the entire trim must come off first take all the screws out of the door 1 in the doorlatch 1 behind a little cover towards the rear of the door and three in armrest along its lengh look up from the ground to see them all then take a winder clip remover if you have winders and pop the horse shoe shaped clip off then place your fingers at the bottom of the trim and pull inward it should pop off go around the door and make sure all the clips let go and lift up and push the door latch thru at the same time then it should be off you will have to remove the old speakers if they are still standard and its housing otherwise screw into where every the old ones did |

You will need shallow mount speakers, or else your windows won't roll all the way down. Pioneer and Boston Acoustics make some all right shallow 6" speakers. Spacers won't work unless you screw them on top of the door trim. if you try and mount speakers in spacers under the trim, the trim wont fit back down and the window window will foul.

Thank you
The screw behind the little cover seems to loosen but obviously not completely as it doesn't actually come out, i'll have to have another attempt. |
