Car washed (That yellow stuff really does smell like lollies), dried, polished, pulled the wheels off, cleaned the inside and outside of my wheels, even polished my wheelnuts.

Very productive Saturday I must say.

Emptied the rubbish from the car, installed new bright white parkers, got new seat covers and tried to cf some interior bits. Ended with a couple bubbles and a crease but happy for my first try. And gave her a quick wash which was a defiant need.

Drove up the coast to Liams place, removed gearbox, flywheel and alternator, and the bits I threw out previously, add that to 80kg of tools and she's pretty low currently in the rear. I'm suprised I still have a lip. Currently enjoying the sea breeze and fish and chips on kings beach. It's deserted! Saw Ryan's multicolored car. Saw you before you saw me haha. All in all a good day.

I saw you as you went under the bridge before the loop. It was actually your headlights that caught my eye.

Today I did nothing but sit on hours of traffic. Needed a new crank pulley as mine was seized on the motor I gave the rebuilders. Dropped that off (and forgot flywheel, doh!), saw twiggy and gave him the 626 gears, then back to the shed to catch up with ghetto, and checked out each others projects, had tea and sold some more bits and pieces. Yay for more room! I had a good chat to john @ plr engine reconditioning and got to watch him build my motor. It looks fantastic. Sorry no photos. He explained the flow results and porting he Sid, which was VERY .minimal. he was impressed at the balance of it out of the factory. Oil squirters hit the pistons (note to those buying wisecos) and he has to grind down the locating tabs and bolt them on an angle. I don't know how that will go for longevity but he assures me he's done many many engine the same and never had a failure. It's a bit of a shock to have an older experienced guy working on it, it always seems like there's apprentices everywhere in any place like this. I'm sure the bill will make me squirm on Friday. Still no idea how I'm going to pick it up.

why don't he just grind down reliefs on the pistons for the oil squirters, install the squirters at the proper places, then rebalance the pistons?

It'd be a wise choice to modify the non reciprocating bits if available as an option.
Still love the fact even the non turbo bp later blocks included piston cooling jets.

Pretty common issue. Mahle pistons also have the same issue and I think Supertech too. Rotating the squirter is the most common practice.

there is a place in Brendale that I will most likely go to when I do mine. But there must be something closer to home. I haven't really searched properly yet.

Because I want it done today, don't have money to pay for the hours it would take vs just grinding down the squirters. Just thought it could be a trick for those working at home.

Test installed my Jenvey Na 1.8 mx5 individual throttle body kit, it arrived today!

No clearance issues, it came with 40mm long trumpets but there'd be room for 60's i reckon.

( yeah i could have just written 'ITB's')
