My Worst Day Ever....

Before i get to the point i want to share this little ordeal,
I was on my way to work this morning, just got onto Wembley Rd. (for those of you who know it) and steam started to pour out of the engine....so i pulled over and checked it out, i pulled up the bonnet and was burnt by about 3 litres of coolant all over me.....i managed to cool down and assess the situation, i lost my phone 3 days ago and i was about 2km from a phone and closely getting late for work! so i ran....about 2km to the nearest phone (which was a KFC) and rang my boss, he grabbed a tow truck and met me at KFC and towed the car back to my work, i had a quick shower at work (and now have minor scars all over my hands) and spent this weeks pay check on a new radiator, i stayed back after work and fitted the fan (and the new thermostat) and bled to find that she was overheating, guess whats wrong now??? my F%$#ing thermo fan doesnt want to work, the brushes are stuffed...hows that for bad luck....so now to my question
WHAT is a good thermo fan for a BG,does anyone have one that they could get to me tomorrow? i dont want a Davies Craig because tinastar had one and it was no good.....any suggestion???
And where would i find 8.8mm splitfire spark plugs???
P.S. im sorry Gav for not delivering your clip, if i get a fan tomorrow ill come
your way
Well now im just trying to calm down but im just a wee bit frustrated....John

Wow, hard luck! Maybe just pick one up from a wrecker? although you run the same riskl i suppose, don't know where you'd find a new part for a 15 year old car.

OK, MAR are a load of money hungry **** heads, my boss rang them and asked for a second hand one and they said $175 TRADE PRICE!!!! my boss called them a bunch of idiots for selling a 17 year old fan for that much and hung up, i have decided to bite the bullet and by a new motor from Mazda for $320 staff price!!!
I figured that at least i will have the cooling side of things done when i do my conversion...and i get a 5 year warranty, not a 3 month warranty...Ive also been told that an aftermarket fan wont cut it...so i thought that this was a good route,,,just a bit pricey i guess!
Oh yeah where would i get Splitfire spark leads.....????

Ive had a mate from DNA motorsports show me the difference between the eagle leads and these splitfire leads im talking about, he hooked up 2 coils and showed me a controled spark. the spark was considerably better with the splitfire...both leads were 8.8mm and he even swapped the coils over to show me it wasnt a gimmick....they are really good...alot of the V8 boys use them to!

+1 for qld ignition leads... they made mine while i waited... and their stuff runs 2000ohms per metre from memory.

Only thing is i don't *think* they are supressed leads... so i've noticed a little bit of noise through the stereo since going to them... but otherwise, good stuff - reasonably priced - and awesome service

Yeah i took the motor to the auto electrician and he said that i would be better off buying a new motor that will outlast the car, rebuilding them doesnt exactly warrant them lasting longer then a second hand one! He also said that i might not be the brushes which in my case would cost more to fix. Ive also sent a PM to Greg but hey i wouldnt answer work Q's on the weekend either! As rallyninja has said at least its not a celica, they have 2 fans and a whole lot more problems....

So do BA's. 2 fans = redundancy, its a good thing
