Quote:
I am glad I already had industry experience before I went to Australian Institute of Fitness On a good note everything you learnt there is TRUE On a negative neote There is more to learn including rehab, training variations, alternate training techniques, tension over time, lifestyle specific exercises If you were to find work with Fitness First you would benefit from continued ongoing in-house workshops etc, Fitness QLD also offers ongoing training courses. Afterall you still need to make up the extra CEC point each year to prove you are keeping up to date with the latest strategies and knowedge. Once you get out into the industry you will have so much more at your fingertips. Just dont doubt yourself, you will always be a benefit to those in need Quote:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA If you have goals for your life KII that mean something, you would make time. But yeah feel free to pop in and say hi Just dont give up on oyur aspirations, the road downhill is faster than the road uphill |

I'm sorry, i know this is an old thread but....
personally i believe if you are really passionate about the fitness industry, further more comprehensive learning is the way to go ... AIF i guess can get you a sneak peek but if you dont want to be responsible for making someone worse than they were to begin with/ or turn them away from fitness then i suggest a TAFE course which takes more than what is it now 5 weeks to complete is the way to go.... those further things mentioned, time under tension, special pops... its all covered at TAFE. I'm not commenting on what your prior knowledge might be, but just know that course like AIF are the laughing stock of the industry and what gives us a bad name. I hope i dont sound like an arsehole, but i'm just sick of seeing all these people come out of a 5 week course, they even have 5 day course at some places and call themselves a personal trainer..... blah... that'll do

No insult taken you have absolutely NO idea previously that I have had my foot in the door of personal training and fitness for well lets guestimate.........15 years
I am not a fan of AIF as they DO only teach whats needed to get into the industry and thats why CEC accredited courses are required I probably know more about the fitness industry and human movement and physiology than most PTs currently in operation, so youre not offending me To be honest I was a bit of a headache to my AIF course coaches for I fought their analysis all the way and proved many things to them they were currently unaware of I used them for my accreditation and thats all Pete |

I got handed a free pass to Fitness First in the city on Tuesday. I will have to pop in and have a look around.
In the draw to win a one month pass, which will be good after the debauchery that is Christmas / New Years. |
