my (not so) new Hardtop Tail lights
due to popular demand
been working on these for ages. the shell is finally finished, the actual lights are still being made by a mate the actual lights are a combination or red reflector, domed brake light, and alternating leds in red (tail) and yellow (top-indicator) or white (bottom-reverse). they're just placed there at the moment to show what it would look like. and a few pics of one on the car from a while ago - not quite fitted properly, but you get the idea so there you go!

they look great.
Now you just need to figure out a way to manufacture them nice and cheap and then sell them for $400.

thanks guys
nah, they're a pain in the arse! There's probably an easier way to make them that what i did, but i couldn't think of it. Aligning the recesses and getting the spacing is the hard bit, the rest isn't too bad. oh, and bevelling the edge is a pain too! half of the problem is that i started off with a damaged pair. Broken around the edges - which was why they were cheap(er) working pics: holes have been cut and PVC pipe attached to the back getting the whole light smooth (the black area as recessed etc) before primering more primer...more bog...

Yeah, i wouldn't mind pay $400 + for a pair, it'll give me a little bit of an edge in the Brisbane Autosalon if i decide on entering. I might give that a try on my stock headlights and see if that'll work, i've gotta alot of PVC pipes laying around here, i should be able to find the right size plus got the PVC glue too,

Hey Dan, have you checked the ADR to see if you need a static red reflector in the taillights?
