I downloaded the "Chicks" song and it has a variable bit rate. That may be the problem. It's the only variable bit rate MP3 that I have [1000+ files]. I've burned full albums that I've downloaded from the Net onto CD and they're fine on my Hi-Fi system. They sound great, but that could be because they're $850 speakers, $800 amp, $1500 speaker cable, $300 interconnect and a Pioneer CD player. **** ay! [great, i'm sounding like Dan now ??? ]. Ah well.

What is the bit rate of the song in question??

Sandy ==> Sounds good. My plan is for a single JBL 12inch sub, with a 6 speaker system. Even though I have 6x9 in the parcel shelf, I still have the rear door mounts/cutouts/grills. just got to get a big enough amp(or a few of em).

Sehn ==> Damn, I wish I had that sort of money![/colorost_uid0]

7x5's (front speakers for the Hardtop) : about $130 (I think)
6x9's (rear speakers for the Hardtop) : about $200 (I think)

Those were trade prices, as we repair the dealers printers ( :: ) so expect to pay a bit more.[/colorost_uid0]

Yep. I've heard that speakers sound better when you've amped 'em. Is that true?

My Plan is:
Amp (capable of driving 1 x Sub and 2 x speakers, if possible)
Sub
6 speaker system (as I still ahve the cutouts in the rear doors for 7x5 speakers). hence the need for an amp to drive 2 speakers.[/colorost_uid0]
