fuel guage acting funny?
While I am posting new threads, our fuel guage has started acting "funny" the last few months. It quite often shows the fuel light and no fuel for a bit before moving up to the correct amount. Its been doing this more and more lately, ven if the car has just been turned off. Its quite erratic, so when it was serviced a few weeks ago of course it didn't do it for the mechanics. The car is under warranty until at least May so it should be covered, but it'll be hard to prove it. Also I noticed all along that the fuel light seems to come on wayy.. before the meter is even close to empty...about 1/2 way between 1/4 and E.

Unless you have been poking around near the wiring loom its more likely to be a bad connector than a bad wire so it 'should' be fairly easy for the mazda guys to find the fault.

could also be a faulty sender unit, seen a few of them go at work
this will be covered under warranty if it is Rob

With my gauge when the tank is filled to the very, very top and the car is stationary the gauge plummets to empty.
I feel that it is part of the cars character, I live with it.

Yeah, my car is rapidly gaining more character I'm still cruising around without any needles on the fuel since I bodged the install of my el-guages. Just learn to love that little yellow light.
