BJ Fuel Consumption

Hey guys just wondering if anyone could help me try to narrow down what is causing my Bj astina 1.8l to use so much fuel? The car is stock and i only get about 430kms around town. Could It possibly the o2 sensors or blocked injectors???

I have a 2.5" cat back exaust and a cold aid intake and my BJ 1.8 normally averages about 450 km per tank around town, so i think your car is performing normally. It all depends on how heavy your right foot is. My car can vary from 370-550 km per tank round town depending on how I drive it. I do remember my car being a lot more economical when i first got it, but that was pre mods and i was driving to a different job that involved a lot less stop start traffic

That is also pretty much what i get with my BJ using premium. Although I have been using Shell 98Octane for the last few weeks, and I think I am getting better mileage. Still waiting to see how i go with the current tank before I make that assumption.

I recently had my car dyno tested and the mechanic that did the test was rather surprised at how rich it was running while doing the test.
When i get my hands on a scanner I will put a copy of my dyno results up for all to laugh at.
Other users have said that replacing the stock ECU with an afternarket ECU can make huge improvements in fuel consumption and give you a decent power boost as well.
Personally I dont think it is possible to get the fuel consumption that they advertise it should get. Maybe if ur a grandma and never rev past 2000 you might.

I was getting 650kms/tank over just this weekend, and that included a lot of touge runs & highway driving.

If it wasnt for the awesome twisty on the way down and up dorrigo i would have got about 700-750.

Had done like 620 with 1/4 left.

So far im over 500kms round town driving off a tank, I'd say i have another 50 km left before i have to fill it up, But I was wondering have you checked your tire pressures lately as they can cause a lot of extra fuel to be used if they are soft.
My car gets over 350 km off the first half of the tank, but the other half is a different story, gone in 100-150 km....
