BJ Tail Light conversion

Hi there

I'm pretty new to these forums (just bought an sp20 Astina) and it's come with clear altezza tail lights and it's a 2001 model. I want to buy stock j48 lights and fit them however i've read that the j48 tail lights won't fit a 2001 model because i need a different wiring harness. Does this mean that i have to buy the tail lights without the circular indicator/reverse light ? Like these ones:

I was also wondering if the clear altezza tail lights it has on it now require the updated wiring harness anyway, and the previous owner has already updated it? These are currently on my car

Cheers

no, you can put any version of factory BJ tail lights you want... the tail light has it's own sub harness that plugs into the main loom, you just need to get the J48 tail lights with that sub harness

Like that? These are the ones i'm planning on buying. Although it looks like the sub harness is cut off.

Thanks for your help

Will the bulbs from my car just plug straight into those lights then?

Im confused, you have altezza chrome lights on the car now, and you want to revert back to the stock 3 circle lights?

These?

If thats so, just replace the tail lights, the harness & bulbs will work just fine.

if you're going the other way and going to these:

You'll need the wiring harness for a BJII

Yeah that's right i want to revert the chrome altezza lights back to the 2003 stock lights (circular indicator). Problem is my car is a 2001 model and would've been manufactured with the square indicator stock lights.
