Selling a car to someone interstate. Help Required

Anyone have tips or pointers on this? I have NFI which forms to use. The VicRoads forms are for transferring rego to someone else in Victoria. I've looked on the QLD Transport site aswell. I also have no idea if I need a RWC, and VicRoads Customer Support is useless as tits on a bull. So has anyone here got some idea what I need to do in this situation?

Last thing I want if for someone to take delivery of the car and then get messed around registering it in their home state.

Call the QLD version of VicToads, they will probably want a QLD roadworthy and new reg. As a sign of good faith to the new owner you could provide a Victorian RWC or if they have a friend in Vic you could transfer the reg to them at that address for re-reg when the current expires.

Any RWC can be used to re-register your car I think. I registered a VIC car once in QLD using a QLD RWC. If you are selling a car best thing to do is get the RWC and then all the further stuff is not your business. Swap money and wave good-bye.

In Vic you need a Vic RWC to rego.

Pretty sure.

I did for my car. And Interstate engineering certs are useless.

But check the QLD rules - thats what applies to QLD regos

you definately need a rwc for the state you are regoing it in.....done it heaps of times..and one thing i miss about QLD is the lower stamp duty and exemption of SD altogether within families.
