front door speakers
hey ppl,
just putting new 6.5" speakers in the front doors of astina Bg 93. I was wondering if they gonna fit in both diameter and depth. i am really worried about the depth, they need 53mm of space at the back. Also should i use mdf baffles? any help would be great thanks, sole |

From the sound of it you already have to speakers so it is easy to check. Pull the trim off, wind the window down and see if the speaker sits in the hole fine. You can then look through one of the access holes to check magnet to window clearance.

i have a BG aswell and the fronts are 6" standard i put 6's in mine and the fit perfectly i dont no if 6.5's will fit it they might just. as for the depth when i got my speakers i got ones that would fit but as chipa said just try them and see. with the parcel mine is already broken and thats with out speakers in it so to put 6x9's in you will have to reinforce it of use mdf

almost all 6.5 speakers are just as large as the 6. speakers.
i had to make like spacers to get them out like with my car i have installed alpine type S speakers in front doors. but i have them underneith the door covers as well so they arnt too obvious or anything. but i did need spacers whcih i made. this got them out enoguh so the window would come down n not hit the magnet |

I hope this gets a reply: I'm looking to put some Hertz ESK 165 components into my BG, using the stock mounts. however i'm a little worried about the 63mm mounting depth and may have to get the slim line version. Has anyone measured exactly how much room we have there?

nvm, i got the 165s/ but we figured we had to pull the bit of plastic off the door which has the speaker cover on it. So now we can put it back if i change cars. Doesn't look too bad, and fits the 6.5"
Only problem is, how the heck to get more wires from door to inside the car? Might need a new loom or something . . .
