Alpine 25W + 25W power Amplifier 3515

I recently came across the above mentioned device.

Beyond the obvious can anyone shed some light?

Well if your asking why would some-one would want that its really quite simple, most head units will tell you that they output 50 watts Rms per channel
I'm not going to say there lying
But you might find that if you did use that amp to drive speakers they would most likely sound better have less distortion and be louder than say..... using well any head unit I have ever seen

yeah current head units amp module is still really small-

these small amps - phillips made some good ones for utes/vans
they are used alot as fill in amps. great for powering 2 ways and areas for people who want cleaner sound.
Not as common now but I remember back in the day used a few as rear speaker amps - all for fill in speakers. AS your front are main stage and you use nice pair of splits cut at 120-150 htz depending on size even 180 on 4inchs and decent amp and your sub amp combo fill your base -
the small amp runs full stage or cut above 80 and just fills in.

I remember on a audi - it had front stage in dash with kick panels all one 4channel amp - the doors 4inch front and rear splits - twin phillips amps babys 20+20 watt cut above 180htz
rear shelf 6inch 2ways off 4 ch - and one small 10. The owner loved Opera and classical. Problem was sub IMO was not enough due to the cars absorbtion of sound but he was happy

a mate bought a vw golf gt and when he wanted to change the speakers(wit better 1's)he found that the speakers were connected to little amps so comparing that to the other statements in the previous post on this thread i would agree that the amp that u came across in ur first post is one of those amps
