DavoAust's Rebuild

thought i may as well post up my plans for the astina over the near future.

Right Now:
as it stands the car has changed a lot since back when i bought it, and i'm much happier with the looks, but its still not right (needs respray ).
Cv's have just shat themselves and the engine eats oil so those are on the immediate list to rectify, along with (finally) respraying the front and rear bumpers where they were damaged in the crash all those months ago. whilst i'm doing this i'll finish up the mini skirts and on they'll go.

plans are to rebuild a lower km engine and swap it with the current one so i don't need to keep it off the road for more than a day or two. nothing really interesting about this, just refresh the new engine, maybe a port and polish and light weight pulley's.

Current bits that are on the car (or in the garage!):
Exterior: 17x7" Osaka wheels, JDM front bar, Smoked indicators, mini skirts (garage )
Suspension: RS*R springs, Cusco Strut brace and A-frame brace
Engine: 2.25" cat-back to 4" dump tip, Custom CAI & K&N panel filter
Audio: Sony 15" sub, MTX thunder 6.5" component splits (or not, blew one, waiting on replacement ), Full audio wiring (as well as 4ch amp), 7" motorised dash screen
Interior: SAAS pedals, under dash neons

Possible Future:
This is the wish list:
Exterior: 18x8" Lenso DC-5 (Charcoal), Mazda lip, side skirts, Respray the entire car (championship white), custom tail lights (or maybe just night shade them, unsure), GT wing
Engine: Full 2" mandrel bent SS exhaust to twin tips, High comp pistons, reground cams, ecu (aim for 110kw atw N/A)
Suspension: Subframe bracing, thicker rear sway bar, koni adjustibles
Audio: 2 MTX 15" subs integrated into boot (with amp), 2-din Alpine HU
Interior: mazdaspeed seats (white x 2), retrim rest of interior in similar white/black leather, EL dials, Momo steering wheel (also trimmed to match)

yeah, not a small wish list, but some of those should probably be on the 'to-do' list instead. i'll be a happy person if i manage to do half the things i want to with the car.

i'll try to get some current pictures up in the next day or two, the readers rides ones are a little outdated (by a year? )

still no pics but hopefully on sat i will acquire an undamaged rear bumper, whiteline swaybar and new JDM bumper with lip. both bumpers in maroon . why never white?

if i have time i might test fit the front bumper and mini-skirts and see how it looks. think its time to buy a new spraygun

EDIT: got all the bits in the garage. swaybar is already installed, test fit of lip looks good

finally remembered about this.

The car now has the front lip fitted, looks good. A lot of work will be done on it over the next 2-3 months though:
- Replacement bumpers prepped and sprayed
- Left front quarter panel resprayed
- Dent removal on doors
- Front lip & mini skirts resprayed in correct shade of white
- Engine rebuild (looking at cam swap in addition to rebuild & port and polish)
- New HD clutch
- Brake upgrade
- Exhaust tip changed, high flow cat & extractors following rebuilt engine
- Microtech ECU
- Amp upgrade & relocation to boot, HU upgrade

Picking up some goodies from a fellow member next week too

Maybe after all this i'll be happy with it for a while
