I thought that we could have another thread for those who are staying in or live in the Newcastle Area will this cruise is being held.
At this stage it looks like some people are coming to the Newcastle from the 23rd of Jan to the 27th, so I thought we could get some ideas together for the4 or 5 days of fun. Accomodation:Too my Knowledge Andrew and his fellow Qld'ers are staying in Maitland. |

Ok so the winneries are one day or there abouts, it really depends how much time you want to spend there.
I know gav wants to have a look around newcastle and get an idea about the area in general. Anything inparticular that Snert wants to do or Boostedbatman I am pretty vauge cause I have never organised a big cruise before |

Andrew, you are a total LUSH! I will be impressed if you can take in so many winOries in 1 day... And I wonder why I pay you in ale.
Just getting around the map of Tassie last week, I was able to suss out the good areas, and the places that weren't so flash just from driving around and checking out the inhabitants. So I guess us strangers from the north can take in Newcastle for all it's splendor and glory by doing the same, pretty much...? I might be meeting up with a girl in Gosford when I'm there too, but I got no idea what day that will be? Well I'm not fussy, if there's a view and something we're not used to, I guess it's all good. arh that many wineries in one day is a peice of piss. i spit out the wine.
i like me wine. spent $5k on wine on my trip to victoria in 03. i only go to the good wineries. too much time and money can be wasted on bad wine anyway, brisbanites, how does this sound? sunday 23rd meet at BP @ goodna 4am warwick 6am for mcdonalds breaky & BP (or shell for snert) servo. tamworth lunch, whenever. probably around 11am real time. fill up maitland @ 3pm real time. leaving on the 28th - same sorta deal? leave early like 6am. lunch probably glen innes @ 12, home by 5 |

Sounds like a plan
Some day in the week gav wants to suss out newcastle so we can allow either tuesday or thursday for it, most of you guys arnt familia with Newcastle so ill show you around forthe best part of a day. And on the other free day we could have a nice relaxing day at Nelson Bay, maybe go to shoal bay go for a swim grab some fish and chips and just bum around there for the better part of a day. What do you guys normally do at night apart from sleep, one night in the week we could go down to the foreshore and you guys can catch some of our laps action, which is big on sunday arvo's, thursday night's, friday night's and saturday night's. Just some idea's please throw up some more and after we have a few we can decide what you guys want to do. Quote:

at this stage it looks like we are meeting at the north bound caltex twin servo near wyong and cruising out to hunter valley gardnes to grab some happy snaps maybe grabbing anibble at Harrigans while we are out that way then heading into Newcastle hopefully catch some lap action.
It will be very big so im thinking if we want to get some pic's altogether in newcastle maybe we could grab soe at king edward park or bar beach car park thats where last years were taking, mind you there will be plenty of photo opportunities at hunter valley gardens. So we can all hangout together on the foreshore I was thinking maybe we could park on the road the fort scratchly over looks either the main one near the occean baths or the smaller one that curves up the hill near fort scratchly. Either way im sure we will find some where, no doubt the foreshore is going to be packed especially pit lane and you can be sure that Nobby's Beack car park will be packed to, but the other areas are less congested and im sure we can find some room somewhere, on the last cruise we parked on a small patch of grass just below fort scratchly but this time I think that for people with very low cars it might be a real task to get in there with out scrapage. |
