those are not hub centric spacers. any more than 3mm and you rims will not sit on the hub like they are supposed to do. hubcentric spacers should have a inner tub that you rims will sit on like they normally would do on the hub. those are just round shiney disc that are gonna cost lots of Protege5 owners money soon. if you are gonna buy spacers, at least buy proper ones.
8mm = okay! lol your current studs ar 32mm long. once they have gone through the hub, rotors and wheels. there is not much thread left for the nut to hang on to. especially if you have alloy rims, as the remoce another 2mm compared to steel rims. Marc I wouldn't recommend 5mm ones from a safety point of view. I have 3mm ones on the BA and I'm never happy with it cus the amount of thread that's left. I'm not gonna go in to fastened joint design but i just would say go with the 3mm ones.

they are hubcentric. i was confusing hub centric with locating lip.
a proper bolt on spacer with a locating lip. 15mm is the smallest you can get. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ICHIB...Q5fAccessories note the locating lip on the inside. Last edited by project.r.racing; 24-01-2011 at 07:29 PM. |

you can get universal ones from autobarn...meaning not very snug fitting...im using 6mm ones at the moment on the back wheel until i get my new rims that fit properly
back wheel/s would rub pretty bad when making right turns...have no idea why or where but the spacers seemd to work cost less than 30 for a pair

I can get my hands on a cheap 2 channel amplifier, it puts out 60w rms (at 14V so a bit overrated i'm thinking...) to both channels.
Want to get speakers to match and i'm wondering if a $150 pair of component splits w/tweeters will get me a better sound than $150 coaxial speakers.. Kinda like highish end coaxial vs low end component?? |

In my opinion, stick with the JL's and just run them off teh amp, which I should be doing seeing they are so underpowered running off the headunit..

JL will need no mods to fit. The other will.
And for those prices + shipping. You might as well go to JB HiFi and buy them. |

The SPS-600 will fit the back doors, you'd want SPS-507 for the front if you're keen on Alpine.

Ended up getting some alpine type r 4 5x7" because i couldn't be bothered mounting a tweeter :P it has got a pivoting tweeter which is suppose to work reasonably well.
And the sedan doesn't have speakers in the rear door, they're in the parcel shelf The alpine Rs run anywhere from 2-100W rms and the amp i'm getting can run at 100Wx2 or 60Wx4. If i tried amplifying the rear STOCK speakers would i just blow them up or maybe improve them a bit? |

1)on the factory HU if i wanted to hook up a amp/amps to it, where do i connect the remote wire on the HU? 2)i got me a 4ch amp (alpine) its got the 2x rca inputs but its got a pre-out rca...does that go into another amp/mono block?

You get the ford removal tool or some stiff metal coat hanger and poke it in the little holes where the facia was to release it

Take a look through the audio section AFAIK you're not the first person to remove a HU.
