Swapping KLZE throttle Body into KFZE
Mates,
Did the swap this morning. Installed a KLZE curved neck throttle body (KL68) into my KFZE (curved neck too). Swap is straight forward, but requires a lot work. Once done, start the car. Idling is good, at 750 (without aircon) and 800+ (with aircon). Took a drive around the blocks. Well, it felt sluggish. When the car came to a complete stop after a drive, the RPM stays at 1500, maybe for 20 sec before going down to idling speed. It seems that the engine speed need sometime to drop to idling speed. Then, I rev the car upto 6000 - 7000 rpm. Noticed there were popping sound (pop pop pop) at the exhaust. My personal conclusion of these is that the car is running rich. Why say you all ? I felt that with proper tuning, KL throttle body would improve the response of the KF engine. Would a Super Air Flow Control (SAFC) helps ? Should adjusting TPS would do the job ? |

you will need to adjust the TPS , although you may find that the electronics in the difference throttle body are incompatible.
use the TPS from the old throttle body. check for the open/close trigger as well as the position sensor. did you also swap the IAC ? |

IAC or Idle Air Control valve sits under the throttle body.
Its a valve which the computer opens to allow extra air to pass by the throttle body - so that the car can idle. |

Drive it 'round for a while (two or three weeks). The ECU will come to grips with the change. Reseting the ECU will just confuse the matter.

I have read something about setting KLZE throttle body on ProbeTalk forum. Got some useful info that I will try it soon. It state something about setting the TPS to a certain voltage (0.55 - 0.75V) and the WOT to a certain voltage.
I need to get the voltmeter first before all this...... Will update. |

The Millenia KL-ZE one I have reads
KL68 10N08 195900 - 3521 BTW the butterfly diameter for all ZEs are 60mm not 65mm (thats the size of the external rim) And the KF-ZE is actually 55mm (for the record) |

The KL throttle that I have has KL68 xxxxx stamped on top.
I got it from a curved neck KLZE. Think its from the Millenia. Anyway, I dun think the idling valve has anything to do with it, coz the car idling is perfect (with and without aircon). Just that, the engines seems to be very eager to run and takes its time to settle down to idling speed after a drive. Looks to me that it is running very rich. |

That throttle body has me stumped
I just measured my TB and IM and the results are........ Dimensions of TB as per my previous testament The IM runners at the bend are 50mm x 35mm The port sizes are (rectangular) 46mm x 27mm The opening to the IM 65mm So yeah Rod your TB has me stumped especially as KL01 is the bottomend generally unless there is no other variant part Would you think that the TB has been bored out or looks to be original and if it is original and unmodified then my guess would be that it is from an MX6 and this is why Quote:
