question about my 97 ba

as most of you know i have a 97 ba anyway

i would like to know if some could tell me why the gear stick in autos have 2 buttons and next to 3 2 1 it has Hold 3 S L?


sorry if this is a n00bie question but it is my first car afterall

Basically if the Hold function is on, then the Auto doesn't change automatically from that gear into the next.
And it's good for a few extra hundred rpms on the tacho to give you a little boost in power/torque if you need it (at least in the BJ)

The second (Hold) button will prevent the shift into over drive and turn on a HOLD light on the dash.
3 - S - L stands for Low - Second - 3rd. Some people like 123 some like LS3.

Well, not really. It just turns off the overdrive and lets you rev it harder.

I'm going to check the boot lid seals cause it appears to be coming from the top

Take a look around the hatch bump stops (pictured) I've seen krud build up there and it could cause an overflow.

Thanks guys, i fix i have found the problem, the seal at the top was tucked in rather than covering the plastic, i'll get a hose tomorrow and test to see if its fixed

I'll let you know how it goes
