loss of power.. .. feels like 3 cylinders eep ..

hey all .. my (1990 astina gt) is running like crap .. its always had a problem where the engine cuts out randomly ... i will be driving along and it will jolt and fart for a few seconds then regain power .. .. problem is it happend the other day and after it stopped jolting... it started running bad ... feels like its running on 3 cylinders ... but its not because when the revs are below 2 or 3k it runs on all cylinders .. the second i try to accel it just gets a loss of power and tries stalling .. any ideas ... im going to try to replace the petrol pump the AFM and the dizzy (car will ocasionally get the power back for 5 seconds or so ... then goes back to feeling like 3 cylinders ).. but if anyones had this problem before help would be great cheers all

looks like ignition related issue as it loses power under load.....yes..I'd check the leads , rotor , dissy cap first (simple and easy things to check) . dont just go and replace the fuel pump without checking the line pressure cause you may be wasting money!

I would start by checking the leads as they are well know for failing and causing these symptoms.
The first thing my local Mazda dealer told me when I took my car in after drooling over the first Facelift model 91 Familia GT in Christchurch was to change the leads.
2 weeks later while the leads were on order from Japan it crapped a spark plug lead at 3 am in the morning and -6 degrees.
I called the AA (RACQ,NRMA etc) and they towed me home because they couldn't figure it out and it was too cold.
