Hey Platypus,

willing to ship to the Netherlands? If you have PayPal?
I'm interested in the Injen.

Thanks.

Sweet. Thanx for the pics. So it goes down into the little comparment infront of the wheel... thats where i got my current CAI running too. Did you do anything to create some good air flow to the pod on the end of it? Ie. Cut some of the under carage??? Also looks like you had to move the coolant tank. Looks pretty easy.

I'm very keen on it. So if its free let me know how to go about purchasing it.

Thanks for checking platypus.
I just happened to had a small incident monday
I just dropped of my g/f at the station and in all of a sudden my car wouldn't start It was raining and cold and I was still in pyamas
So had to be towed and it seemed my battery was dead.

So if faz323 still wants it I'm currently out of budget

Thanx Platypus for the injen. Received it today and put it in today. I've felt quite a bit out of it. More response... Doesnt shutter when you change gears (so lot smoother driving). 1 thing i found though is its really god damn loud! Did you have this aswell??? Until about 3000rpm it sounds like a trumpet n its really disturbing. Sounds really good after that but its still very loud. After i got home i made sure it was all fitted straight and firmly and all the bolds etc were done up tight so that it coulding vibrate creating the trumper noise. I havent driven the car again yet though. I'll find out tonight.

Did you have this trumpet problem??? Any suggestions for way of quietening it?
If i can quiet it down a bit then its a very worth while mod i think!!!

You can't make these quieter, except you could try a foam Unifilter filter instead of a K&N style pod filter.

Got a Unifilter rampod on it. Guess its just the piping. I dont mind it being heaps noisy. just want to get rid of the trumpet sound. I'll put up with the rest. Maybe a smaller mushroom pod might be better

hard pipes, you will get reverberations, and a shop vacumm sound at idle... the 1.6 has no under bonnet sound proofing unlike the 1.8/2.0...

as to the noise, i noticed not much low, but plenty on WOT above 3k

damn i miss my protege....

Drove it again last night. I find in 1st its not trumpety, Second gets a bit of it. But third is just loud as fart. But i have also noticed the car likes to get up n go alot better. Not so much lag in first especially. I have friends studing engineering so we'll work something out to make it a little quieter.

Just gotta watch the cops till then. haha

Cheers again

smeh, its enclosed in that well... all should be above board. i've been pulled over before, and they had a peek, and then looked for the turbo! - but of course none there, no probs

don't stress about the cops... if you want to make it quieter then you;ll need a restriction of some sorts, something to slow the airflow down, a resonance box perhaps, which will then go against the work thats done
