BJ Headlight conversion
Hey guys,
Came across this site not long ago and now astinagt.com become a regular stop on my daily travels. Basically ive got an imported Familia SP20 BJ-FW version with the FS Engine. Im wonderin what is involved in converting the headlights to the BJII version as i really prefer those lights over the current ones. would i need to change the side panels and bumper? if so, would i just be better off selling my car and buying a BJII to begin with?!? |

explain...how to guide?
thinkin to change my rear brake lights to a version like yours marc, what you think they would look like on a white familia, i then want to paint my headlights black and change my side indicators to clear/black. currently working on and fitting a customized cold air box for the sp20, any kiwis who are interested in a custom box to fit their familia watch this space. |

what I was going to do, as I have headlight covers, was mark out how big I wanted the eyelid, then carefully cut the excess off with a hacksaw or dremel, sand and then paint them. I have never seen eyelids for the BJ1 so that looks like your only option.
Black & white should look great on your car too Im going backwards to you and replacing mine with the tail lights that you currently have, for that JDM look (which will look great with the Sport20 decals & badge I have coming ). Cheers Marc

from looking at the two headlight photos it looks like the eyelids would be interchangable between the I and II as the diff in the light comes after the eyelid finishes.. or am i seeing bull**** haha

your seeing bull****
The BJII lights are curved on the corner whereas the BJ1's are boxed, have a look at where the headlight corner meets up with the guard..

i got a suggestion. this is what i did...
i went to a signarama (sign making place) and i got about 1m wide by 30cm long piece of white vynil that is sticky (same for making decals for windscreens) i came home measured up my headlights, drew a outline on a piece of paper and drew it on the vynil and it out with a stanly knife.. and once they were on the headlights they looked like eyelids, they were stickon and once i didnt need them i just peeled them off. you can make anything you want for yours in this fasion |
