Talking Track day??

i know a long long time ago in a galaxy far away someone somwhere said something about twiggy organising a track day ... whats the sotry with this?

I'd love to take out carnell raceway for a day ... heard it is fairly cheap to get your hands on ... and if we can manage to get 10 cars together it will be even cheaper ... anyone else?

Just outside of Warwick 2hrs drive SW of Brisbane.

Morgan Park has now gone through a major revamp and extended to 2.1km with four track configurations.

yep, morgan park (and was going to post that pic). the full circuit is awesome!

anyway, morgan park is around $1000 for a half day, $2k for a full day. now if we get 20 ppl, that's only $100 ea for a full day and i'm sure we'll get pretty well as many laps in as we'd want!

and yes, june/july is the time i'm thinking

Darlington Park at Stapylton has bugger-all in the way of track run off, so if you fark up you go into a tree (and there's lots of them). But then again it doesn't have barriers either... They do Motokhana and skidpan there too I think?

I won't take my car on a track until I do the following anyhow:
Eibach lowered springs;
Race wheels & slicks;
Slotted rotars & phat brake pads;
4.416 diff;
Transmission oil cooler;

That's not me piking either, it's just that the auto doesn't like to be pushed hard for long periods of time, it has locked in gear twice before when hot!!! The lowering and brake upgrade is just an obvious safety feature. The springs are on the way, so they should get here any month now...

well hey i'll be coming up - so unless they red flag it -- i'll be on the track

as to abc blah blah blah i'm a dirty.... (fill in the dots)

as to the lack of enthusiasm for a wet track ----- ditto to the above

if we have the track for the day i thinks we can afford to time trial - even if we wait till someone else gets half way around the track... anywho thats what officials are for

There is a new engine getup going in my 'baby' soon ( about 2 months)
SOON
KL-ZE engine transplant
Injen CAI
Stainless Steel headers and exhaust with hi flow cat
Clutchmasters stage II clutch with braided clutch flexi line
Fidanza 9lb aluminium flywheel
Poly engine mounts
Magnecore leads
Electric Water Pump with EWP controller
Lightweight Crank Pulley Wheel ( with custom Gavin designed backing plate)
Samota Silicone Coolant system hoses
MBX Motorsports Ultimate Dual Feed RRFPR kit
Stainless Braided Brake lines and Lucas or EBC Pads

AS the old KF-ZE is extremely worn I have to feather it around like I have Miss Daisy looking old in the back seat
I am starting to feel as if I have forgotten what full throttle feels like and damn I miss that

And you never know I may have the Microtech LTX12 fitted by June also (which should get my ALL MOTOR output to around 190whp)

It WILL need a cooler on it and new oil, but that's not a big $$$ excersize in any case.
I'm not gonna take shortcuts on my precious, stock auto's weren't made for 20 minute track sessions. I'f I'm really lucky I'll have the lower final drive gearing/diff in before the track today to take even more stress off the transmission. If I'm feeling like a big spender I might even go for a 3000rpm stall convertor...?

i found the handout on darlington park, and they offer half day sprint, track is yours, fully marshalled at all times and there could be instructors on hand is u want help in driving faster also all cars will be scrutineeded before racing to make sure its safe(looks at nate)it also says group number limited so i will give then a ring tomorrow to find out the price and how many ppls.

i know its still open as msi racing(go karts) are still running and ive heard nuting else to say its closed

i have a pic of the track and yes there is a lot of trees which my be the downside to this track.
