Looking at some ok places in auchenflower atm. The place where I'll be working is on Coronation drive, just after it seperates from the ICB/Riverside Express Way/Whatever it's called at that point. So it's basically just outside the city.

If you lived in Auchenflower you could practically walk to that location in 10-15 minutes. Indooroopilly is less than 10 minutes on the train. Not sure how the prices compare.

Yeah that's the main attraction. The places I've found are a few blocks away, which is good. What are cab prices like from the city? Just in case... I need one.. some night

If you're gonna settle in Auchenflower or Rosalie, make sure you have good offstreet parking! There's a nice fush end chup shop and Japanese resturaunt in Rosalie though.

Ok cheers. Bad suburbs?? Or just lots of kids. I'm only looking for places with offstreet parking, unless the place is simply amazing

Nah, not bad, just nowhere to park on the restricted parking days. Not so bad this time of year, but everytime there is a ball game or consert on, it's quite annoying.

Sigh what is with all the break leases! It's all affordable now then they want another $50/month in 1-2 months! Gosh! I just want somewhere near a train station if not close to work

my sis stayed in an apartment in Auchenflower, there were a few nice looking ones around there too and i noticed they had lock up gararges... plus there was a bit of off street parking around.. they never had much trouble at all. ill find out what street she was in and then u can look from google street view as well to see what else is in that same area and how busy that road looks (i know im full of good ideas haha not really)

the law is if you sign a lease for 12 months they can only change it at the 6month marker if prices have gone up...but they cant do it within a 6month period from memory

Hmm really? A lot seem to be doing it. With a break lease are you finishing someone else's lease then starting your own? Maybe that's how they do it.

i used to live out in corinda (the good side) and it was really nice..trains run nice and regular so there is no problem with the transport on that line.
its alot further out than where you are looking but that is just my two cents |
