Just checking in too see if a backup plan has been thought off? As it is not looking good for Putty road being re opened to the general public before the weekend due to the bush fires.

Bells line and great western was an option I mentioned earlier as an alternative.

Type this into google maps.

DIRECTIONS:

A: Outback Steakhouse, Old Windsor Rd, Parklea NSW
B: 97 Bells Line Of Road, North Richmond, New South Wales
C: Darling Causeway, Mount Victoria, New South Wales
D: Outback Steakhouse, Mulgoa Road, Penrith, New South Wales

This is a round trip of 2h and 23mins.

I know its not in the same direction... but currently anything north west is going to have fire issues. everything west has already burnt, passed and reopened.

otherwise its the same old Woolongong.

That run doesn't look to bad! I am open to anything though, so whatever everyone decides I am happy with.

I was down at the putty road burn with my brigade and it is fairly large and still going so it wouldn't surprise me if it is still shut. I know that they plan to keep it closed at least until Thursday. On Thursday/Friday I will see if I can find out if they plan to reopen it for the weekend but it doesn't look good from what I hear.

I am keen to meet up with fellow central coast/newcastle people and go down. Any ideas?

as above... still a huge out of control fire.

putty road is still closed.

If it is opened... there is likely to be a lot of police, emergency vehicles and traffic traveling in that direction that day.

We just turn up to the planned meet point as per normal. and on the day we can check. as either option/route is easily accessible from there.
