Pin 1: Green / Orange - Rear Right Speaker (-)
Pin 2: Green - Rear Right Speaker (+)
Pin 3: Brown - Rear Left Speaker (-)
Pin 4: Brown / White - Rear Left Speaker (+)
Pin 5: White - Front Right (-)
Pin 6: Red - Front Right (+)
Pin 7: Black / White - Front left (-)
Pin 8: Black / Brown - Front Left (+)
Pin 9: Black - Ground (see note below)
Pin 10: Pink / Black - Switched power, connect to red wire in aftermarket harness.
Pin 11: White / Blue - Dimmer, not typicaly used for an aftermarket radio
Pin 12: Green / Black - Illumination aka Dash lights
Pin 13: Blue / Red - Contasnt Power aka Battery aka Memory, connect to yellow wire in aftermarket harness.

NOTES: The sedan rear doors do have holes for the 6" speaker but do not have any wiring from factory. For aftermarket head units, bolt the ground wire directly to frame of car instead of using the loom ground wire. Using the harness ground introduces alternator whine according to plenty of reports.

BJ owners, is your rear spoiler rattling? -> http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43790

How to get your speaker wire through those darn connectors (done on BJ but suits BA/BG as well) -> http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90091

More basic tutorials to come.

Best method is to keep them out of sight. They don't see anything unusual, they won't go out of their way to break in and steal them.

no it doesnt but you can get speaker > RCA adaptors. otherwise some amps also have speaker level inputs

I can't feed a CD into the slot ! its like if something is blocking it .. Pressing eject does NOTHING.. pressing LOAD does nothing.. pressing CD button does NOTHING...

Martin I'll sell you mine

On topic. Will 16cm speakers fit in the rear doors of the sp20 or will it be oversized as it's just over 6"s ??

I have recent bought a Astina '95 BA. There are a number of issues with the car that I want to attend to. The first and easyist is the audio system. The car is fitted with a radio, cd and tape deck unit. I don't think it is the standard one. But it does not work. I have seen the run down of how to remove the dash, but was wondering if there is another way to get to the radio without removing the whole dash?

If it's not the Mazda one then;
Step 1 Park your car outside of your local coles for an hour with a CD hanging out of the head unit.
Step 2 Instal your new headunit in the hole left by the theif.

Seriously though... Different H/Us have different methods... post a picture.

You will need to remove dash. Takes 5 minutes. Unscrew 4 screws and the gearknob then it all comes off.

If it's a stock headunit then it it takes one minute with a small screwdriver and a cut up 20c clothes hanger. If it has a removeable face then there is probably a lock on each side with the face removed...... none of these require pulling apart the dash unless someone has deliberatly
