How can you tell between stock bpt and FE3
i Have recently brought a turbo astina. how can i tell the difference by just looking at mine. This may be a clue the exhaust mainfold has BP 26 printed on it.

It's a bp mate. Fe3 are gold topped. Not a drop in swap, requires another engine mount. Bp26 is the jap spec stuff (ecu, afm) turbo is probably just a vj20

head markings is easiest and intake manifold - But a large manifold Bent forward is the F8 the 1.8L F series engine. FE DOHC are Still very rare in australia in comparisson and will mostly be found under larger 626's and equivlants then 323's. |

Look at the cylinder head. To the right of the distributor on the BP will be a marking BP-05 or BP-26 on the BP engine. On an FE there will be FE3N mark cast in the head on the left hand side above the exhaust manifold.
The bore spacings are different between the two engines so the heads are not interchangeable.
