Any Sim Racers Out There?
Hey guys, just wondering whether there are any SimRacers out in AstinaGT land?
Also whether anyone is rocking a Logitech G25/G27? Reason I ask is that I just bout a brake spring upgrade (Australian made spring by GTEye), and didn't know if anyone would be interested in a review. Also what games are people playing? As in all games I'm strictly PC only, but we may be able to tee up some online racing for members?

I play predominately PC sim racers, the GTR series, DiRT 2/3, NFS (I have every edition made ) and a few others. I only play GT5 on PS3.
All of these are played with a Logitech Driving Force GT

I usually only play racing games on the xbox as my pc wouldnt hav the guts to run anything.
I have a g25 thats hooked up via an external port, so it basically mimics a controler, just without force feed.

Also if anyone has been considering a new wheel or a wheel upgrade, LogitechShop are selling the G27 cheaper than I've ever seen it ($100 cheaper than 6 months ago when I upgraded). http://www.logitechshop.com.au/logit...-pc-ps3-2.html

You would have to be pretty keen to want to buy a Logitech G27. They seem to have a very high failure rate. Just so you know every one I have sold I have had returned. And after many months screaming at Logitech and their suppliers I eventually got a refund of less than what the customer paid for it. They have an issue where they just jump from side to side when they are unused as well. |

That's interesting. I've never known anyone to have a problem with them. Do you know which component has the issues? Wheel? Pedals? Or shifter?

For example the new Logitech Z906 speakers are not better than the old Z5500s. |

You can buy it online http://www.raceroom.net/shop/item/22/gt-legends/
You could also try one of their later titles Race07, STCC 1 or 2. You can get a bundle pretty cheaply on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/2277/ Race07 requirements are still pretty low (see Steam page).

Biggest thing they have going for them is there isn't any competition at that price point. If you wanted to buy something comparable you'll be paying at least double the price (for a wheel/pedals from Fanatec/Thrustmaster), probably more. I'd still say this is the best option currently available unless you've got wads of cash. If $245 is too much (and you are willing to give up the stick shift) you can have a look at the Logitech Driving Force GT. They were recently on sale on logitechshop but have sold out while on special (normally about $100-120). Dirty Dicks currently have them for $189 http://dicksmith.com.au/product/YG23...force-gt-wheel)

Awesome wheel, I love mine, however I rarely use it anymore... Damn uni taking up all my time All for a good cause good though, I iz getting education
EDIT: If you guys are teeing up for an online race on GT Legends sometime, I'm up for one - that's one of the many I forgot to mention in my first post Also GTR Evolution (Race07 expansion - I have the game, freekin awesome) and RACE Injection. Both awesome games... Coupled with a steering wheel (Logitech DFGT or G25/G27 with the right FF settings), you have yourself a somewhat very realistic setup!
