there is a thread about it here. SEARCH and you will prob find unless it went missing lol
basically you use a dremmel to cut away at the non see thru plastic and then get a stencil that says 323f and put that there and paint the rest I THINK (all done from the inside ofcourse)

i know you've probably already finished it by now, but just in case you havent, i'll go through what my bf and i did to make mine light up..

brought a rear garnish from wreckers...
took the black plastic bit off the back (it just unclips)
spray painted the inside of the garnish black
waited for it to dry
sanded back the mazda 323 bit
used a dremel to cut out the two middle squares in the black plastic so light can shine through to the 323
nightshaded the 'mazda 323' so you could still read it in daylight
put a red neon in there, then wired it up to the parkers
hope that helps a bit.

I haven't got around to wiring it up yet.. Was just thinking neon would be easier... How did you light yours up? and how did you access the number plate lights?

well when u remove the pannel right. there are about 6 screws right. i only intalled it back on the car with 5 screws. i letf the middle screw witches located under the boot release. and ran the cable thru the hole and plastic there. the number plate lights come from the back left of the car boot. the wire comes from near the bottom of the foot well but about half way down, as u can see in the middle picture. there is a wire coming thru the body near the jack. thats it . just splice the wire and join into that.

was cbf trying to put individual lights in, so just got a led tube from autobarn and made grooves for that in the plastic and stuck it across using a hot glue gun.
