sorry for the not so clear pictures - i only took them about 30 minutes ago when i got home from my mate's engagement party.

anyway, man do these things stop! not even close to using the abs and it pulls up so damn quick!

the few times in the test run when i got on abs it was incredible! lets just say i've found the limit of the stock tyres and well exceeded them! if i ever get slicks and go out to the track! FARK!!!!!

slotted rears are on their way - coming from sydney.

will be painting the calipers glossy black in the near future and keeping the small mazda on the calipers in metal colour. will also make the rotor hat black too.

overall very impressed so far. and when the rotors and pads wear in more (thank you sunday!) it'll be even better!

wil post clearer pics tomorrow after i was the car

Don't woyy champ, I'll take some decent photos of them on Sunday for you! A pitty the Mazda rims are too big and conceal them from the world...

Nicely done,
Gav.

i wanted to stay away from x-drilled. i dont like the idea they can crack a lot more easily compared to slotteds. also, the dba 5000 series only came in slotted probably for that reason. they are racing rotors afterall.

yeah the wheels hide them a fair bit, but i dont mind. i like the sleeper look.

now i can go, stop and handle (well when i get the sway bars in). next = more go!

final price for the rotors, all machining etc, stainless lines, pads for the rear, bleeding of the car with caltex rbf600 brake fluid was $2310. just need to get the rear rotors and the clutch line made up in stainless (and bled) and that's it.

so including the calipers, front pads, rear rotors, stainless line for the clutch and bleeding of the clutch line the total price comes to around $3k. not cheap hey?

the 2 peice rotors upped the price a fair bit because a lot was involved with the rotor hats (gave all the problems). also $250 for the calipers didnt help.

overall it was a bit more expensive than i hoped for, but i dont care. the thing stops so well and the car is even safer. that's why i did all of this - baby only 2.5 weeks away!

just look after them at $3K. Kinda worrying seeing them blued up like that already, I understand the temptation but give them a chance to gradually warm up and cool down whilst moving whenever possible. Other than that SPECTACULAR!!!

review after today's cruise : GREAT!

although we werent really pushing hard, there was no brake fade at all. i can imagine with even better pads how they will go at a track.

and yes i did give them time to heat up today and when i gave them a stab the other night. a lot of nice gradual slow downs. you can definately tell the difference between cold and when they are warmed up. warmed up they rock!

here's a comparison pic :

Andy im impressed I can only tell you that sitting in my car feathering the brakes to keep the heat down then watching the black terror hammer towards a corner on that decline then stop and turn with such ease is an awesome sight. You should be happy dammit. Ive got a front end transplant to plan now before I can consider those corners. Green Stuff pads will have to do for now
