J spec GTX ECU

HI All,

Does anyone know if the GTX J spec ECU supports an Immobiliser?

Mine has gone into shud down mode

Has anyone ever taken the immob out of a 1997 BA??

didn't know the BA had an immobilliser standard. normally cut between ignition and ecu anywayz i think.

Immobiliser???
All the documents I have say that the BA don't have one.

Hmmm... mine must be aftermarket, I do know its a mazda one tho.. car was at the mazda dealers and they couldnt fix it...or should I say be bothered to fix it as its " A converted car" .....

I *think* the BA workshop manual mentions remote central locking.
that may imply an immobiliser was possibly present , but Ive never seen it mentioned

i dont think the gtx ecu has anything built in.
could it maybe be theres a problem somewhere thats causing the car not to start ?

the sender to the injectors from the ECU has stopped mazda say the immob has gone into shut down mode

anyone come accross this before?

If it's anything like the IMMOB function in a Chrysler Neon there's a single pin on the ECU that puts it into IMMOB mode - on Thatchcam cars (UK Market) and cars with the full on factory alarm system it's triggered.

I suspect Mazda may be the same as the GTX was sold in the UK and it wouldv'e probably needed something similar, however it may also be electronic trickery.

Have you thought of trying an alternative ECU? It could just be a dead injector circuit?

Yes I have thought about it but I dont want to spend loads of money if I can fix it for less

I dont recall the J spec ECU for the GTX having an immob, can anyone confirm for me?

hi shaggy, how u Immobiliser it?
so far i didnt heard anyone at here get this kind of problem. i dont think so mazda has built in the Immobiliser in BA or GTX.

cheers fella, its the std factory immob, the sender from the ECU to the injectors is broken, no one knows why it has stopped tho cars been off the road about 1.5 months now, DOH!!

Not yet, after speaking to ROB80E I think its not the ECU but a sensor :S

I need to take time off work to have a look at it like
