BG F25M-R vs. BA F25M-R Gearboxes

Can I use a f series gearbox from a BG Astina on a BA Astina?

If no? What and what are the differences? Splines? Ring gear? Other?

I think the ring gear is different as the BG one has a cable driven speedo and the BA one has a pulse recieving speedo.

Dont know what the difference is but i will look into it .
Why do you want to change boxes for. I noticed on your car you got a lsd where did you get it from etc?

the lsd came from a 1.5L familia from japan. fitted the oz spec BA f series splines/shafts prefectly. bolt supplied weren't long enough to thread through crown wheel, so had to use others.

i brought a f series gearbox from a bg astina as a spare. but i have heard their is differences between the 2 boxes, but nothing has been confirmed. hence the questions.

if it ain't usable in my car, then i might as well sell it.

i can claim i have the only lsd for a f series in oz. one was on the yahoo japan sale site 6ish months. i got mine 2 years ago. so uber rare huh?

lsd is awesome on cornering out zero latteral slip with the front tyres upon max accelleration. eliminates torque steering (even though i ain't got much torque lol).

on the skidpan, it generates massive grip. i'd luv to get out to willowbank park (the dirt track) and give it a go. last time i was there, i was feathering the throttle to maintain mid and exit corner grip.

There was a bg 1.8 familia sedan that came out with a lsd. It had a different interior and was a very limited model as I didn't see many of them. They had a sideways figure 8 on the boot. I think they were called an infini?
The lsd was only used on that as far as I know.

Ratios are different, driveshafts are different lengths IIRC. I tried to fit a BG shaft into a BA box and had issues, as well
