engine jerk after new battery not fixed tightly

my battery was dead last month and required a replacement
the shop opposite my house did not fix the battery terminal tightly
i move in the car for a few km and the car broke down
then i got the terminals tightened
but the car was not in good condition as before changing the battery
i had changed the plugs and plug cable
the condition improve
but the car engine is jerking
and sometimes when i stop on traffic lights after just started the car
the engine turns off after a few jerks
the problem only when the engine is cold
no problem when the engine had warmed up
i never experience this situation in my car before
where is the problem?

how do you know it was the battery?

a) Battery may not be large enough capacity for equipment your running. The old Battery may have been a highr amp/cca Battery?

b) Your alternator is not working properly & could be the problem all along?

c) Could be something different causing shorts/power drain. Even something wired wrong perhaps?

My advice, get an auto electrician to check you havn't got a current drop somewhere. When I fitted my huge amp, car suffered power drain when I applied my brakes or turned headlights on! Turns out I had a wire connected wrong to my HU that was causing power drain.

Just get everything checked over to be sure

century maintenance free ns70
someone had helped me checked the alternator,it is ok
i will check the wirings

OK, get your ECU checked immediately! A spark from when Battery was changed could have thrown it out. It may need re-setting? You'll need a EFI tune shop to look it over. You can't have it jerking & stalling like that.

Another thought. Could need injectors cleaned & a good rap through the gears. Might be gummed up & a coincidence. Unlikely but hey, easy check! Do you use premium fuel 95 Octane min? If not, you should be. It's cleaner & ives better longivity & power. Multi-Point FI cars are designed for reving & are always better on premium fuel. Dealer Service Manuals sometimes even have this stated! I changed to Shell 98 Octane last fill. Got 60kms more out of tank with same same driving Unreal! Don't use United fuels or cheap garbage petrol. It aint worth it

Start with the little things. EFI cars have heaps of sensors that speak to ECU & you have to keep
